I just finished ripping a bought DVD of The Good The Bad And The Ugly.
To get all 2 hours and 51 minutes of it into a 699 MB avi is just amazing - Thanks again :)

my dvd was 1:29:44 and the total output for the file is 704mb! Wow! Bt it takes too long to convert. Btw thank you a lot for this info.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. axxo I thought does not rip from original source material but takes higher quality rips from others and re does them at a lower file size and lower quality rip. From what I have seen he just takes larger then 700mb files that where ripped with then intention of keeping quality at 1.2 or 1.5gb then re-encodes them to 700mb so people on bandwidth limits can get more but crappier quality movies on their pc per month. If you want a better quality then axxo and most likely the same source that axxo gets his material from check out scene releases. You can find forums that have them and if you have the disc already you can download the same thing legally as far as I know as long as its not a different version like you have theatrical and want to download the uncut. The scene release follow a rather strict set of rules to insure quality and axxo type people do not.

I back my dvd's using this because my son had autism and can wreck dvd's and cd's in fack almost 99.9% of thing he can get his hands on. (but i love him even more, More than my insurance company). It has saved me the worry as all the movies are saved onto a removable hard drive.

Hello..... Has anyone heard of a guy named 'Riddler A'.....
His DVD rips are wonderful... last day i downloaded a film named Ninja Assassin. Its resolution was about 1200x720.. Amazing clarity... But the most amazing fact is that its size is only about 400 MB..!!!!!!!! Video format is .MKV Can anybody tell me hw it is made.....???

Thanks a ton mate. Great stuff. I was using xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate until now, that is super fast, but I wasn't able to figure out the best Quality : Size ratio.
If I chose DivX, the size was more than 2GB, and if I wanted it to be less than 900mb, I had to choose the iPod H264, which wasn't the best of quality.
Auto GK takes a lot longer and is a more long winded process but I got the size and quality I was looking for, so thanks once again, and Hats off!
